A thousand apologies for the delay guys, I lost the original draft, plus being really busy with work doesn’t help. This is what I could put together. Enjoy!
The greedy sucka, he just couldn’t help it could he? Not only did Tony Starks put out one of the best hip-hop albums of the year with Fishscale; he decides to steal even more of the limelight by releasing another one (who some say was even better). In 2006, Ghostface Killah easily outshone all of his peers… by quite an amount.
The first of the two albums dropped around May-time and I remember being in a club when Kilo dropped and the place going bananas! Odd, due to the fact that it isn’t really a club tune but it still banged. Hard. It was definitely one memory from 2006 i’ll keep with me. This track really had me last year.

One for Ghost…
A track I think some of us older folks can relate to! Ghostface rhymes about catching a beatdown from his mama when he was a youth, and he is so on point when he points out the problem with kids today is that they “don’t get beat no more”. This is one of the best tunes on the album and with sterling production (as ever) from J Dilla it is very reminiscent of Ghostface’s earliest hit, All That I Got Is You.

You damn right!
A few weeks before the year was up, More Fish was released; now this came a shock to me as I had no idea it was in the pipeline. What a nice surprise! Technically this album is a posse album, the second Theodore Unit effort (718 being the first), but to be honest I hardly even noticed; Ghost shines so bright on More Fish that his colleagues are truly second rate. The only exception being the fantastic Grew Up Hard.

I’ll leave you with two more tracks from More Fish: one containing one of the hardest beats ever released by Ghostface, the second, some say, is the best hip-hop track about poker. Ever.

The brightest star in the Wu Tang galaxy.
